Congratulations to the amazing Centennial Hills Middle School Robotics teams!
What an exhausting three days it has been for our Centennial Hills Middle School Robotics teams!
We got a chance to participate in a tournament called the Battle For Vegas, sponsored by TESLA, that spanned Sunday, February 5 through Tuesday, February 7 at the Westgate Hotel's convention center area. There were over 180 teams that were present at this tournament; some from our Las Vegas valley, some from neighboring states (California, Utah, Idaho), others from further states (Nebraska, Florida, Massachusetts), and even a few teams from other countries (Canada and England).
In our division, our team finished 29th overall, which was an extraordinary achievement for our students and our CASLV Centennial Hills campus! Our students have been diligently working on our competition robots since the beginning of this 2022-2023 school year and this week was their time to shine. This tournament brought a lot of great joys, some really frustrating moments, and a ton of learning for each person on our team.
Not only were we displaying our design, build, and programming skills, but also our interpersonal communication skills, project management skills, and our resiliency. Each match that we participated in gave us something to learn and adapt to so that we could ultimately better refine our robot and our strategies as well as our character.
Please join us to congratulate the students below. We are so very proud of them and all their efforts.
Dominic B., Caleb F., Lorenzo D., Luca P., Mason B., Maykel K., Eleanor V., Cheyanne W., Benjamin G.
Special thanks to the amazing Coach Mr. Upton!
