We are happy to announce that Coral Academy put up another fantastic fight at the first of the three VEX VRC Events this past Saturday!
All three teams performed well enough to make it into and thrive in the elimination rounds and all three teams received various awards and recognition for their accomplishments.
VEX VRC Team 10058a: Galactic Eagles was awarded “The Amaze Award”, which recognizes them for an amazing, high-scoring robot that clearly demonstrates overall quality. While this team struggled to get off the ground they managed to make a major turnaround toward the second half of the qualification rounds. The team made big improvements in overall performance and game strategy when compared to their previous event. Team 10058a placed 13th out of 36 competing teams in the alliance teamwork rounds, which qualified them for Eliminations! Team 10058a also managed to make it into the quarterfinals where they held their own against a very skilled high school team. Finally, Team 10058a is currently ranked 537 in World Skills out of 2046 competing teams worldwide as of today. Keep up the great work!
VEX VRC Team 10058b: Golden Eagles was awarded The Sportsmanship Award, which is presented to a team that has earned the respect and admiration of the volunteers and other teams at the event. Not only did team 10058b demonstrate much-needed improvements in their performance, they were also able to come together as a team and demonstrate effective strategy with their alliances. Team 10058b placed 8th out of 36 competing teams in the alliance teamwork rounds, which qualified them for Eliminations! During this high-pressure round, team 10058b once again went head-to-head with team 10058c in the quarter-finals. While they put up an amazing fight, their fight ended with their heads held up high! They are eager for round three! Finally, Team 10058b is currently ranked 547 in World Skills out of 2046 competing teams worldwide as of today. Keep up the great work Golden Eagles.
VEX VRC Team 10058c: Eagles Mania was awarded The Tournament Semifinalist for their efforts in the elimination rounds. The team continues to make major improvements in overall performance and game strategy when compared to their previous event. Additionally, the team has also managed to outperform many teams. This is an indicator that team 10058c is a force to be reckoned with on the field. Team 20058c placed 4th out of 36 competing teams in the alliance teamwork rounds, which qualified them for Eliminations! During this high-pressure round, the students made it to the Semi-Finalist Round. Team 20058c is currently ranked 542 in World Skills out of 2046 competing teams worldwide as of today. Finally, it is with great pleasure that I can finally announce that Team 10058c: Eagle Mania has been invited to compete on the national stage for 2023 CREATE U.S. Open Robotics Championship - VRC Middle SCHOOL competition in Council Bluffs, Iowa. As of today, they are one of only a few teams to represent the State of Nevada on the National Stage. Great Work Team 10058c.
